Guidelines
To support the publication of diverse and scholarly work across academic disciplines, writers are encouraged to consider the following guidelines when submitting for review:
- Submit original, unpublished papers not exceeding 4,000 words.
- Focus on research-centred topics addressing diverse, pressing postcolonial African issues (e.g., illegal migration, mining, academic capitalism), and contribute to cross-disciplinary knowledge.
- Maintain a scholarly tone; avoid personalizing topics or discussing divisive, emotionally charged subjects.
- Demonstrate rigour and use clear, accessible language; minimize technical jargon.
- Clearly state your positionality, acknowledging any biases or emotional attachments.
- Avoid topics that may cause anxiety, discomfort, or harm; adjust focus for ethical scholarship. Follow APA 7th edition formatting and citation requirements.
- Submit papers in English; future calls may include other major languages.
